Our Amazing Staff

About Our Staff

Hubbard Sports Camp is extremely proud of our awesome staff. Our Camp Directors have been with us from 5-15 years! They are experienced, educated, trustworthy and fun. They do a fantastic job of communicating with the parents, overseeing the camp counselors and coaches, and ensuring the campers are having a great time in a safe, structured environment. We have coaches and counselors that keep coming back! We love seeing them summer after summer. They come back saying, “I never want to leave the best job on earth.” They love spending their summer days teaching campers about sports and active play and are very involved and enthusiastic. Each employee goes through an interview process each year, background check, drug test and camp training.

The director is the backbone to running a great camp. The mentor, communicator, and leader who is responsible for communicating with all parents and staff. The director supervises all activities, staff, and campers and exemplifies Hubbard standards. The director aids in handling children’s behavior and in the communication with parents. The camp director communicates daily with the Executive Director, handles daily payments and paperwork. Organization, athletic background, energy and great communication skills are paramount

Counselor

Two counselors care for a group of campers for the week. They help the campers as they are learning and participate in the games with the other counselor and the coach. Being a counselor requires patience, enthusiasm, commitment, teamwork with the staff, and energy to create a great experience for the campers and the rest of our staff. Responsibility for the kids is paramount.

Coach

The Coach is the teacher, the motivator, and the leader. They plan sessions that incorporate a variety of skills to introduce to new campers and challenge the veterans. The Coach works with the counselors to help each camper learn while having fun! Experience playing or coaching a particular sport is wonderful but not required. General knowledge of the sports and energy to play and teach the campers is necessary. The sports the campers learn are soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, swimming, and archery.

Swim Instructor

Swim instructors teach camper swim lessons based on Hubbard Family Swim School's standards. Some background in swimming is encouraged but not required. If you have energy and desire, we'll teach you. Training must be completed before the first day of camp. Training consists of 20 hours in the pool at the Hubbard Family Swim School as well as a classroom session.

Food Staff

A very important role indeed! The food staff prepares food for about 200-300 hungry campers and staff. We encourage healthy foods and have a list of past favorites and requirements for particular food groups.

Afternoon Supervisor and Staff

(Monday-Friday, 3:30-6:30pm) Energetic, responsible people who interact with kids as well as communicate with the parents. This staff member looks after the kids as they depart from camp, collects daily payments and interacts with the campers and parents.
